Kerala HC dismisses anticipatory bail plea of Swapna Suresh

The Kerala High Court, in the case of Swapna Suresh & Anr. v Station House Officer & Anr on Thursday dismissed the anticipatory bail plea moved by two of the main accused in the gold

smuggling case of 2020, Swapna Suresh and Sarith PS, in a new case registered by the Kerala Police after Suresh's recent allegations against Chief Minister Pinarayi Vijayan The offences charged in the first information report filed against Suresh under Sections 153 (provocation with intent to incite disturbance) and 120B (criminal conspiracy) of the Indian Penal Code (IPC) are both bailable offences, according to Justice Viju Abraham. He also pointed out that the second petitioner, Sarith, had not been charged with anything. As a result, the Court decided to dismiss the anticipatory bail request.
