Abhishek Banerjee and his wife rujira, who were being investigated in the case related to coal smuggling, were allowed to travel on the basis of a medical condition. The HC asserted that there would seem to be no basis for the ED's concern. It stated that a person could not be forced or compelled to seek medical treatment in a specific country if he believes that treatment will be more beneficial in a healthcare center in another country. "When a patient does have the measure, he is free to enter any doctor or hospital of his choice. The government cannot prevent a patient from receiving appropriate medical treatment of his or her choice." The court said this.
