Ashoke Kumar Chakraborty announced as Additional Solicitor General for Calcutta High Court.

Veteran Counsel Ashoke Kumar Chakraborty has been appointed as Additional Solicitor General for Calcutta High Court,the appointment was announced by Department of Legal Affairs under Union Law and Justice Ministry.The post was vacant past three months following unexpected resignation given by senior counsel Y.J.Dastoor,for the last three months responsibilities were handled jointly by senior counsel Billwadal Bhattacharya and Dhiraj Trivedi.Finally, Chakraborty appointed to expedite the pending cases relating to Union Government in Calcutta High Court.His appointment would give fillip to Central Agencies like Central Bureau of Investigation and Enforcement Directorate in cases before the High Court which are two are handling.A letter received by Chakraborty from Additional Secretary,Legal Affairs,Anju Rathi Rana offering him the post for three Chakraborty accepts the offers and says his main aim will be to clear pending cases of the Union Government.
