Former Congress Leader Sajjan Kumar has been in jail since December,2018.He surrendered after being convicted and ordered life imprisonment by Delhi High Court, In 1984 anti-sikh riots case broke out following Indira Gandhi the then PM assassination case.lige imprisonment was ordered in regard to killing of 5sikhs in Raj Nagar and for burning down gurudwara in Raj Nagar.Justice Yogesh Khanna issued notice to Kumar asking response to SIT's plea challenging bail given to him in riots and murder lodged at Saraswati Vihar Police Station in which trial is undergoing.SIT alleged that Kumar is involved in serious offence and some witnesses are yet to be examined and releasing him might hamper evidence as he was convicted in similar cases.Delhi High Court have put a stay on granting bail to him and trial shall be continued.
